Stateline Showdown at Staples Stadium

(Franklin, GA) — A plethora of music and marching band fans are expected to descend on Franklin this Saturday, Sept. 28 as Heard High School hosts its third annual marching band competition.

Staples Stadium will once again be the site for the ‘Stateline Showdown’ featuring some of the top high school marching bands from the area.

The event will also feature special performances Saturday evening by the Marching Braves at 8:30 PM and the Point University Marching Skyhawks at 9:00 PM. The awards presentations will immediately follow.

The Hardaway High School band from Columbus will kick off the evening’s performances at 5:20 PM.

Other area marching bands performing at the Stateline Showdown will include Lowndes High School, Ringgold High School, Newnan High School, Woodward Academy, and Northside High School from Columbus.

The bands are divided into classes for the competition. The open class featured bands with 101+ wind players. Other bands are divided from Class A (up to 40 wind players) to Class AAAA (80-100 wind players).

Admission is $8 per person at the gate and concessions will be available throughout the day.
