Welcome to Heard County High School and Staples Stadium, home of the Mighty Braves! As you entered Staples Stadium, I hope you noted the surrounding facilities. We are beginning our tenth season of play on the turf. We have recently upgraded our home side bleachers and press box area. In addition to the Staples Stadium renovations, we have completed eight years in the new high school and have completed renovations to the band room, health occupations lab and classrooms, along with six tennis courts and a softball stadium.

We are proud of our facilities and what our students achieve at HCHS – in our classrooms and on the playing field – but these accomplishments are not due to complacency and satisfaction with the status quo. Our students are able to excel academically and through extracurricular activities because of a dedicated community and staff of aspiring men and women who have a common goal – “PUTTING KIDS FIRST” and always looking for ways to achieve that goal.

We expect excellence on our playing fields and demand it in our classrooms; our students respond. Being a high school student is not an easy task, but adding to that being a football player, softball player, cheerleader, band member, or cross country runner increases that difficulty. I am extremely proud of each of these students for his or her willingness to participate in the gruelling practices and desire to keep HCHS in the forefront as a place of excellence.
