Head Football Coach Head Football Coach

Coach Barron is entering his 17th year as the head football coach at HCHS. Barron was born in Mableton, GA where he attended Pebblebrook High School. Barron then went on to West Georgia College and graduated with his health and physical education degree in 1994. Upon leaving West Georgia College, he spent eight years coaching and teaching at Alexander High School.
Under the direction of Barron and his staff, the Braves have made the state playoffs 15 out of the last 16 seasons as well as giving the community five region titles. He and his staff have become the most successful staff in the history of the Braves football program. Barron feels that the success the Braves have had over the past 16 years is due to the hard work of many people. He feels that in order to be successful, you have to surround yourself with great people. Barron goes on to say, “I have the best possible staff that I could have. They are the ones who are doing the teaching of our young men. If you surround yourself with people that you care about and they care about you, great things can happen.”
Barron also gives a lot of praise to Laura, his wife of 22 years. He says, “In order to stay in the business for a long period of time, you must have a very understanding wife. You spend a lot of time away from your own family. Laura is the backbone of our family, and she keeps it all together during the long football season.” Barron and his wife are very proud of their 21 year old son, Austin, who plays football for the University of West Georgia.
