HCHS Announces 2019 Homecoming Court and Theme
(Franklin, GA) — Heard County High School will celebrate Homecoming Week October 14-18. This year’s theme is “Tune In For A Braves Win.”
The Brave football team will battle Region 5-AA foe Jordan on October 18 at Staples Stadium (7:30 PM Kickoff) where the 2019 Homecoming Queen will be crowned. The King will be crowned at a school pep rally Friday afternoon.
The 2019 Homecoming King Nominees are Jacorian Allen, Charles Bryan, Wyn Denney, Jake Harrod, Dale Thornhill, and Qua Thornton.
The 2019 Homecoming Queen Nominees are Kiera Burden, Tori Caldwell, Betty Covington, Lily Langley, Tori Manders, and Alissa Philpot.
Underclassmen representatives include freshmen Camden Cosper and Adrianna Hollingsworth, Sophomores Chance Brown and Emily Head, and Junior Representatives Elijah Hollingsworth and Hermonie Garza.
The 2019 Heard County Homecoming Parade will begin at 4:30 PM on Thursday, October 17. Mrs. Lori Cabe will be accepting entries until Tuesday, October 15. Entry forms can be picked up in the main office at Heard County High School.
The school is also selling two different t-shirts (pictured above) to commemorate the event: one that is tied to the school theme and another that is more traditional and PERFECT to wear to the Homecoming game as we ‘Black Out’ the stands.
Student Council members have order forms, but the community can also purchase shirts in the front office on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Orders and money are due by October 8 so that we can get them delivered in time for Homecoming week festivities.
The dress-up days at HCHS for the week will all be based on popular television networks:
Monday: ESPN – Sports Fanatic, Represent your favorite team
Tuesday: History Channel – Blast from the Past, Dress from a Different Decade
Wednesday: MTV – Rappers, Rockers, and Chart-Toppers, Dress as your favorite musician or band from past or present
Thursday: Disney/Nickelodeon – Kids’ Choice, Dress as your favorite character from your childhood
Friday: Warcry Channel – Clash of the Classes, Wear your class color: 9th – White,10th – Gray, 11th – Maroon,12th – Black
